Iran Unveils 3 Home-Made Key Parts for Thermal Power Plants

TEHRAN (ANA)- Iran unveiled three indigenized key parts of thermal power plants concurrently with inauguration of the 22nd International Electricity Industry Exhibition in Tehran.

“Three parts, including the control and protection system of the gas turbine, the disks of the 1st, 2nd and 3rd rows of the 32-MW ASK turbine of Rey power plant and the blade of the 29th row of the 315-MW unit of Ramin power plant in Ahvaz, were indigenized by efforts of the electricity industry workers and are being used in the country,” Managing-Director of the Thermal Power Plants Holding Company Abdol Rasoul Pishahang said.

He explained that the control and protection system of the gas turbine is used in sensitive industries, including power plants, refineries and petrochemicals and enjoys high reliability, flexibility and advanced technology, adding that the indigenized device has been developed based on the state-of-the-art know-how of the world and designed in accordance with international standards and has a capacity of up to 320 megawatts which can be used in all types of turbo generators, turbo pumps and turbo compressors and installed in all types of gas turbines.

“The second device unveiled on the sidelines of the 22nd International Electricity Industry Exhibition is the disks used in the hot zone of the 32-MW gas turbine with a diameter of 1,200 mm and an average weight of 2,000 kg which is being applied in Rey power plant,” Pishahang said.

The added that the blade of the 29th row of the 315-MW unit of Ramin power plant in Ahvaz was the third unveiled device which is considered as one of the highest turbine blades installed in Iran.

The 22nd Iran International Electricity Exhibition opened at the Tehran Permanent International Fairground with the participation of 372 Iranian and foreign companies.

According to the Energy Ministry and the state-run Tavanir (Iran Power Generation, Distribution and Transmission Company), the objective of the four-day event is to act as a comprehensive resource for those active in the industry, by providing in-depth information about its status and latest trends influencing its progress.

The exhibition covers a variety of fields, including lighting, wire and cable, electrical panels, electrical equipment, automation and instrumentation systems, and transmission lines.
