Kitila Mkumbo, the Minister of State in the President's Office responsible for planning and investment, said the implementation of the new projects has been outlined in the Third Five-Year National Development Plan, which spans 2021/2022 to 2025/2026.

Mkumbo made the remarks while presenting the government's proposals for the National Development Plan for the 2024/2025 financial year at a special meeting for all members of parliament in the capital of Dodoma.

Mkumbo said priority will also be given to increasing industrial production and value addition in agriculture, fisheries, forestry and minerals.

"The government also intends to stimulate and improve the quality of education and training at all levels, increase and strengthen the use of technology, especially information technology and communication," he said.

He said the government will continue to increase the participation of the private sector in investment activities and business, adding that the government will continue to withstand the effects of climate change as well as natural and non-natural disasters, including drought, epidemics and floods.
