Iranian Knowledge-Based Company Produces Nodular Cast Iron Rollers
“This company is a group that produces different models of rollers and their accessories inside the country. The roller production is divided into two groups of products: hot and cold," said Farhad Monfared, the managing director of a knowledge-based company that produces rollers and industrial equipment.
He described producing nodular cast iron rollers as the most strategic product that is currently produced by his company.
“Rollers usually have a complicated production process due to their complex mechanical structure that is supposed to withstand high heat in momentary stresses such as bending and twisting pressures. That is to say that, its production process is in such a way that they pass through the iron lava next to the melting furnaces, and according to the request of the rolling line, the manufacturing company analyzes the design set and gradually designs its casting,” Monfared said.
“About 18 types of superalloys are needed to form the required complex which can create a structure resistant to destruction, creep and crushing inside the roller,” he added.
Emphasizing that producing the rollers is a very hi-tech in the entire world, Monfared clarified that due to the work complexity, only two factories in entire country produce it.
“Usually, in rolling mills, optimizing the roller is problematic, and many articles have been published in this field in the world. Now, we have made changes in two rolling sets that produce both sheet and melt iron with optimized alloy and roller geometry, which will increase the auditability and tonnage of the roller. The result of this work has also been published in journals such as iPad by our company and has been one of the best articles for several periods. After the roller was optimized, we applied for audit and after creating special conditions, we obtained the knowledge-based grade,”
Regarding the job creation by this company, Monfared also said, “170 people are working directly and 500 people are working indirectly in connection with this company.”
