“During a one-to-two-year process, the company's specialists were able to produce the equipment needed to make in-situ heaters for heavy and semi-heavy vehicles by using the Iranian experts’ know-how,” Helia Mohammadi, a representative and technical expert of the Iranian knowledge-based company, told ANA.

She explained that the advantage of in-situ heaters is that there is no need to keep the car engine on and the entire car cabin is kept warm by this heater, adding that the product enjoys the capability to save electricity and car fuel, and the amount of electricity consumed in this in-situ heater is as much as the vehicle’s audio system.

“So far, we have exported several in-situ heaters, and we have also met the needs of domestic auto-making companies which manufacture heavy and semi-heavy vehicles,” Mohammadi said.

In a relevant development in April, a professor of mechanical engineering faculty of Iran University of Science and Technology succeeded in making a cylindrical catalytic radiant heater.

The device, designed and built for the first time by Seyed Mostafa Hossein Alipour, can be utilized in various industrial fields like oil and gas, auto-making, petrochemical, food, pharmaceutical, paint, wood and paper industries, and for environment heating.

The Iran-made catalytic radiant heater is a knowledge-based product which has been designed and manufactured based on nanotechnology.

So far, nearly 100 models of the catalytic heaters have been produced and installed in various industries. The amount of pollutants produced by these heaters is very low (carbon dioxide production is less than 5 ppm and NOx production is zero). These heaters do not have the risk of fire and/or explosion, enjoy an efficiency of over 75% and do not need a chimney.

The system is a good alternative to traditional common heaters (bathroom heaters) which have an efficiency of about 30%. The new system is installed directly on the gas transmission line and enjoys an efficiency is more than twice that of bathroom heaters.
