Iranian Experts Make Special Padlock with Capability to Scan Thieves
Experts at the technological company stationed at the development center of the Islamic Azad University’s Central Tehran branch succeeded in producing the padlock which is able to record and send data remotely.
This product enjoys the night vision capability and is equipped with a microphone to record the information remotely and store it in the database.
“You can even connect to the CCTV with the mobile phone's Wi-Fi and watch the footages inside the camera or its images,” Alireza Aqaqoli, a medical engineering student of Islamic Azad University’s Central Tehran branch and designer of the product, told ANA.
“This product can also be charged wirelessly with a special battery and can keep the charge from 8 hours to 6 months,” he added.
Aqaqoli said that the padlock remotely records information and stores it in a database and is reset every two months, and can even be controlled by Wi-Fi.
In a relevant development last year, anti-theft systems designed by an Iranian company using the Internet of Things (IoT) were unveiled.
The smart anti-theft systems can be unlocked and locked using the Internet of Things in two ways with a mobile phone or with a remote control.
Reza Zoleikhayee, the managing director of Imen Farasaz Khodro Company, told ANA that the company is planning to receive a license for innovation from the Vice Presidency for Science and Technology.
The company has signed a contract with Iran Khodro Car Manufacturing Company and the Ministry of Industry for installing and operating car anti-theft systems through the gearbox, he explained.
This system is installed inside the engine and on the gearbox of the car, he said, adding that when the system is installed, the car will not start and it cannot be moved by pushing.
Referring to the advantage of the smart system, Zoleikhaee said, “Unlike other anti-theft systems that give only warnings, the anti-theft system produced in Imen Farasaz Khodro Company includes a physical object such as a steering wheel lock and a pedal.”
This smart system is installed on the flywheel or the main part of the clutch, and this causes the disconnection between the engine and the gearbox, he added.
