Saving Energy with Smart Lighting Control in Cities

TEHRAN (ANA)- Head of Research and Technology Department of Islamic Azad University-Dolat Abad branch said that with smart lightning control a lot of energy could be saved in cities.

Mehdi Hamidkhani, the chairman of Research and Technology Department of Islamic Azad University-Dolat Abad branch made the remarks on the sidelines of Age of Hope National Exhibition (Asreh Omid Event) which was a scientific festival held by Islamic Azad University at the Grand Mossalla (Mosque) of Imam Khomeini (RA) in the Northern part of Tehran between May 29th-June 1st, 2022.

Hamidkhani said that smart city lighting control system, smart water metering, new generation of smart power switches and sockets, integrated and online system for displaying medical images with the ability to connect and archive electronic patient’s records, smart patient bed with the ability to move the patient, Majato system with the ability to introduce the university’s knowledge-based firms’ products and services, and finally Aino platform were among the products that Islamic Azad University - Dolat Abad branch displayed  in exhibition, which received a warm welcome by academics and industries.

The researcher added that EKA rehabilitation equipment and electric devices repairers system received the attention and support from the industries in the exhibition.

Hamidkhani stated that the smart lighting control system displayed in the exhibition was designed and built based on order they received from the Esfahan-based Golnoor company and was especially welcomed by industries and news agencies at the exhibition.

He went on to elaborate on the smart lighting control system saying the system helps checking and monitoring all the platforms of the lighting system of a city separately.

He added that the energy usage of each lamp in different climatic and environmental conditions is checked and analyzed by the mentioned smart control system.

The researcher also pointed out that all hardware parts, including nodes and gateways, as well as the software parts of the product have been designed and localized by his academic team.

He added that the system has a great effect on urban energy saving and has the possibility of storing and analyzing massive data.

He went on to explain more that at the Age of Hope exhibition, he and his teammates had the opportunity to communicate with Tehran Municipality and Electricity Distribution Company and several other large companies to develop and sell their system.

With regard to "Aino", he said that it is a virtual education ecosystem based on game and entertainment and conceptualization of education, which was designed in accordance with the global standards in the Islamic Azad University - Dolat Abad branch.

Head of Research and Technology Department of Dolat Abad of Islamic Azad University also said the automatic lifting patient-carrying push-bed, which is applicable without using too much energy and without harming the patient to move in a lying or sitting position, was one of the other products introduced at the Age of Hope exhibition.

The "Age of Hope" scientific exhibition or festival held by the Islamic Azad University on its 40th anniversary of founding was aimed at introducing the new equipment, products, scientific achievements and activities of the university in the field of technology and innovation in an effort to boost new businesses and knowledge-based companies.
