Iranian Knowledge-Based Company to Hold Workshop to Introduce Visual Inspection Method in Welding

TEHRAN (ANA)- An Iranian company, which is a member of laboratory network of Iran's Vice Presidency for Science, Technology and Knowledge-Based Economy, has offered a new method for spotting and repairing weld defects known as Visual Inspection (VT) in an international workshop.

"Visual Inspection (VT) after welding" method is a non-destructive testing weld quality that examines the external features on all welds to find defects and surface discontinuities and repairs them, which will result in a significant cost reduction, a report by the Iranian Vice Presidency for Science, Technology and Knowledge-Based Economy said.

The report added that a member company of the laboratory network of strategic technologies of the Vice Presidency for Science, Technology and Knowledge-Based Economy, that developed the method is holding an international welding visual inspection (VT) course in July, this year with the aim of increasing skills and transferring its experiences in the field of technical inspection.

The announcement by the vice-presidency about the workshop, said that the workshop covers topics such as knowledge of light, welding signs, defects, general inspection conditions, inspection equipment, welding processes, familiarization with non-destructive weld test methods and standardization.

“This company, with its diverse portfolio of services in the fields of technical and commodity inspection, engineering geotechnics and laboratory services (metallurgy, geotechnics and material resistance, chemistry and corrosion), is one of the few Iranian companies that has been able to respond to a broad range of services required by industries while maintaining its integrity,” the vice presidency’s report added that.
